    i] Uneigentlich von Menschen und Dingen, die ihren frühern Glanz eingebüßt haben. Borchu ist der Anfang des täglichen Abendgebets und heißt wörtlich: Preiset! Am Ausgange des Passah-Festes werden mit diesem Gebete die Feiertage geschlossen und der Genuss von Gesäuertem wieder hergestellt.
